Cracked Skylight Dome Replacement in Iselin, NJ

Cracked Skylight Dome Replacement in Iselin, NJ

Cracked skylight dome replacement in Iselin, NJ is one of the calls we get most. The bubble dome on an older skylight is usually acrylic or polycarbonate. Years of sun make acrylic brittle, and then a hailstone, a falling branch or just a cold night after a hot day puts a crack in it. Once it cracks, rain gets straight into the curb and the ceiling below.

Many homeowners ask if they can replace just the dome that's cracked. Often, yes. If the skylight sits on a curb and the frame is still solid, Iselin, NJ Skylight Repair can measure the outside of the frame and fit a new dome to match. We clean the frame, replace the gaskets and screw the new dome down so it seals evenly.

If the dome is an odd size or the frame is warped, we may recommend a full skylight replacement instead. Either way, we can put a temporary cover on a cracked dome the same day to keep water out while the new one is ordered.

New domes come in clear, bronze tint or white, and double wall options cut heat loss. Call (833) 548-0266 and send us the size if you have it. We will quote the cracked skylight dome replacement fast.
